ix the alternator horizontally to an appropri-
ate holder with internal surfaces protected with soft
material.
Remove the guard (1) after unscrewing the nuts
which fasten it to the alternator (Fig. 13)
Before dismantling the alternator completely, carry
out the operations and tests described on the
following pages.
