inspect the seating surfaces, separate the valve and seat from the valve stop (Figure
8-27).

Remove the valve from the valve seat (Figure 8-28). Wash and dry the parts.
Clean the surfaces with a lint-free rag. Inspect the
0-rings
and seating surfaces.
If
a
scratch, groove or eroded area extends across the seating surface, you must refinish the
surfaces before assembling or operating the unit.
