Caution
Limit service of the appliance to the procedures described in this
chapter.
Caution
To help guard against electrostatic discharge damage, make sure
you are properly grounded by using a grounding wrist strap and
following the instructions provided with the wrist strap before you
handle the components or open the appliance.
Deactivating Configured Interfaces
If you are removing or replacing an installed NIC, use Nokia Network
Voyager to deactivate any configured ports on the NIC before removing it.
Deactivate all of the logical interfaces on the NIC.
Deactivate all of the physical interfaces on the NIC.
If you do not deactivate the interfaces before removing the NIC, you may
have to reinstall the NIC to deactivate its logical and physical interfaces in
Network Voyager.

Installing NICs

Before removing a configured network interface card with these
instructions, you must deactivate the NIC by using Nokia Network
