4.6.5.2 Part Contour Traces
Selecting "TURN" or "MILL" part contour trace
Requirements
Double window graphic display parameters page displayed.
Programme to be displayed selected in the "TURN" and "MILL" windows (see 4.6.1.1).
Actions
Select to trace the turning or milling programme.

Depending on whether "TURN" or "MILL" trace was selected, this page displays:
- for "TURN": the programme selected (Plane 1 or Plane 2) and the specified segments in red in the graphic plane
- for "MILL": the programme selected and the specified segments in the plane (Plane 1) and view (Plane 2 from) in
green in graphic mode.
Description of the "TURN" and "MILL" softkeys
OTHER
TRACE
"TURN": Starts the trace of the selected turning programme (Plane 1 or Plane 2) and vice versa.
"MILL": Starts the trace of the selected milling program in the plane of the secondary view.
REMARK The message "Program number not found" is displayed on the dialogue line if the
"Plane 2" field of the "TURN" window does not contain a programme number.
OVERLAY
M ON T
"TURN" and "MILL": Initiates juxtaposed (side by side) trace of the Z-X turning plane and the selected milling
view. Overlay is not possible unless the Z-X plane is defined for milling (see Figures 1 and 2 below under
"Juxtaposed or overlaid traces").
REMARK To enable overlay, the "TURN" and "MILL" scalings must be completed.
ZOOM
IN
"TURN" and "MILL": Zooms in on an area of the programme being traced on the screen (see 4.6.1.2).
EXIT
"TURN" and "MILL": Exits from the turn or mill trace page and returns to the graphic display parameter page.
REMARK The trace of the plane present on exit from the page is the trace displayed during
dynamic trace of tool paths during machining simulation.
