6.4 IRRIGATION / ASPIRATION SYSTEM SET-UP
For proper I/A lines setup, follow the procedure outlined below:
1) Insert the I/A cassette in its housing on
the plate by aligning the reference
line on the cassette with the
corresponding line on the plate.
Rotate the cassette clockwise to lock
it in place.
2) Insert the drip chamber spike into the
BSS bottle or into the forced irrigation
bag.
3) Connect the male connector of the
infusion set's line to the corresponding
connector on the top of the cassette.
4) Connect the end of the irrigation and
aspiration lines to the corresponding
connectors of the desired surgical
handpiece.
5) To remove the I/A cassette at the end
of the operation, press the release
button and wait until the peristaltic
pump has completely withdrawn.
