When selecting Ultrasounds “U/S” function, the following messages may appear in
the status frame located in the middle of the LCD:
MESSAGE
1 Please, insert handpiece
2 Please, prime
3 Check tip!
4 U/S ready
5 Weak handpiece
10.2 MISCELLANEOUS PROBLEMS
The following guide lists some malfunctions which may occur, the symptoms and
the corrective actions. If the PULSAR
2
surgery system remains inoperative even
after performing the corrective actions indicated below, contact OPTIKON 2000
S.p.A. sales/service department.
SYMPTOMS CORRECTIVE ACTION
A.C. Power
PULSAR
2
completely inoperative. a) A.C. power cord not connected. Connect power cord
to control console and the power source.
b) A.C. line fuse blown. Replace the line fuse.
c) RTC battery low. Plug the equipment in the mains,
keep it switched on for, at the least, 12 hours then
switch off/on before use.
Compressed air supply
Water into the glass container of the gas
filter (Fig.3, No.4).
Evacuate the water by depressing the pin valve (Fig.3,
No.15) at the lower section of the filter.
Gas leaks when GAS INLET (Fig.3, No3) is
connected to the compressed air supply
.
Wrong connection between FILTER OUTLET (Fig.3, No.5)
and AIR INPUT (Fig.3, No.10). Check the connection.
"LOW INPUT PRESSURE" message. a) Unit not connected to the compressed air supply or
tap closed. Connect the unit to the compressed air
source or open the tap.
b) Compressed air supplied to the unit has a pressure
below 450 Kpa (65 PSI). Check for the pressure of the
compressed air circuit.
c) Gas filter (Fig.3, No.4) obstructed. Clean gas filter or
contact nearest sales/service office to substitute it.
