2) t OFF time off, interval between pulses (0-90 milliseconds).
3) Amplitude, height of the pulses (10-100% of preset power).
i.e. leaving amplitude of modulation to “0”, Gate to “off” and defining only the
carrier to:
t ON= 10
t OFF= 30
Amplitude= 30
The resulting burst pattern will appear as follows:
The Modulation is a triangular waveform that modifies the Carrier amplitude. The
Surgeon can define:
1) Amplitude this is the amplitude of the triangular wave. A number that goes
from -Amplitude to +Amplitude is added to the carrier (0-100%). Note that
the result of this addition is clipped to the 0-100 range: i.e. if carrier
amplitude is C=50 and Modulation Amplitude is M=70, C±M= -20 +120 is
clipped to 0 100.
2) Frequency it is the frequency of the triangular wave (0.5-10Hz).
In the following example, Carrier Amplitude is 50% and Modulation is 50%,
therefore, the bursts amplitude varies from 0 to 100% of preset power at a
frequency of 2Hz (two times per second.
