9.0 TESTING AND MAINTENANCE
9.1 BURGLAR ALARM TESTING
Two peop le are n eede d to complete this test. One perso n will watch the LCD screen on the keypa d while the other
person walks aro und the protected areas and op ens the zone s (i.e. ope ns th e doo rs and windows that are
protected, walk in the path o f the motion detectors, etc.). Th e L CD screen will displa y the opened zon es, but if a
zone does not register, contact your Installer.
9.2 FIRE ALARM TESTING
Do NOT use an ope n fla me o r burning mate rials to test your fire de tection de vices. Your Installer will provide d etails
on the best way to test your system.
9.3 SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Under normal use yo ur system requires no ma intena nce other tha n re gula r testing. We recommend that you r
Installer chan ge th e battery every three years.
9.4 SYSTEM TEST
10.0 FIRE AND BURGLAR ALARMS
10.1 STANDARD FIRE ZONE
The Fire Zone may rese t itse lf once the problem has cleared. If it does not, simultaneously
press and hold the [
CLEAR ] and [ENTER] buttons for two seconds.
Speak to your Installer before
con ducting a System Test
since the system must be
programmed to respond to
the test instructions. It is
normally recommended that
you conduct the system test
once a week, but contact your
Installer for instructions
concerning yo ur pa rticu lar
system.
How do I conduct the system test?
1) Call your Cen tra l Mo nitoring Station to advise them that you are testing your
system.
2) E nte r yo ur [ACCESS CODE].
3) Press the [8] bu tton .
The system will test all its connections and can send a repor t to your Central
Moni toring Station. If the system detects a prob lem, the Troubl e Displ ay will
show o n the LCD screen (Refe r to section 7 .0 on page 15) . Ca ll your In stalle r
for repairs if any Troubles occur.
Dur ing a fire al arm, the bell/
sire n e mits an intermittent
sou nd (
BEEP-BEEP-BEEP) until
sile nced or reset. If the zone
is a Standa rd Fire Zone , your
system can immediately send
an alert to your Central
Mo nitoring Station.
How do I disarm a false alarm?
1) E nte r yo ur [ACCESS CODE] on the keypad.
2) Call you r Cen tr al Monitoring Station qu ickly to a dvise the m of the false
alarm.
