1 .4 Definition of Major Components
Part Definition
Adapter “Adapter” refers to the thin metal plate that comes screwed to the back of the
Aries8 Pro Smart Tablets and individual Aries8 Smart Tablet. This adapter
attaches the Aries8 Pro to both the Standard Mounting Plate for stationary use
and the Aries Handle for mobile use. For more information on the Aries8
adapter, please see section titled “Adapter” on page 22.
Aries8 In all cases, “Aries8” refers to the payment tablet only. For more information
on the Aries8 Smart Tablet features, please see the section titled “Aries8 Smart
Tablet” on page 7.
Aries8 Pro In all cases, “Aries8 Pro” refers to the Payment + POS tablet only. For more
information on the Aries8 Pro Smart Tablet features, please see the section
titled “Aries8 Pro Smart Tablet” on page 10.
Communication Box
(Comm Box)
“Communication Box” or “Comm Box” refers to the separate communication
hub containing the Standard Mounting Plate’s power supply and other
peripheral ports. For more details, please see the section “Mounting Plate
Communication Box” on page 26.
Integrated Plate “Integrated Plate” refers to the stationary mounting plate for the Aries8. This
plate provides power and communication ports and comes permanently
attached to the Aries8 and, in some kit configurations, the Aries8 Pro but can
be sold separately for a la carte purposes. For more information, please see
the section titled “Integrated Plate” on page 23.
Mounting Plate “Mounting Plate” refers to the Aries8 pro stationary mounting plate only. This
plate requires an external power supply
Tablet/Smart Tablet In all cases, “tablet” or “Smart Tablet” refers to both the Aries8 and the Aries8
Pro terminals.
