7.8 Communication via Ethernet/IP
7.8.1 Data exchange via EtherNet/IP
EtherNet/IP is an open fieldbus standard, which enables data exchange between PLCs, PCs,
control systems, monitoring systems, sensors, and actuators.
Visit the ODVA website for information on the EtherNet/IP: www.odva.org.

Configure the following parameters in addition to the IP address:
The lower limit of the RPI is 10 ms.
Data/Command transmission
The data is exchanged by commands that the IDENTControl Compact recognizes. Unlike
commands that are used for TCP/IP and MODBUS protocols, EtherNet/IP commands do not
have a command length parameter.
The commands are transmitted via Ethernet/IP objects, i.e. objects from classes 04h, 64h, and
65h. There are two different modes: "Mixed mode" and "Separated mode".
