Diesel Particulate Filter
Temperature Is Low
(If Equipped)
This procedure is only applicable to engines that
have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) installed.
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) monitors the
temperature at the intake of the Diesel Particulate
Filter (DPF). The ECM activates the following code
when the conditions are met.
Complete the procedure in the order in which the
steps are listed.

Comments
3242-17
E1014 (1)
Particulate Trap Intake Gas Temperature : Low - least
severe (1)
The temperature at the intake of the DPF is below the
trip point that is calculated by the ECM. The trip point
varies depending on engine operating conditions.
The code is logged. The code remains active until elec-
trical power to the ECM is cycled.

E1014 (2)
Particulate Trap Intake Gas Temperature : Low - moder-
ate severity (2)
The temperature sensor is not correctly installed.
Engine power is derated 30%. The code is logged. The
code remains active until electrical power to the ECM is
cycled.
