Troubleshooting Test Steps

1. Charging Circuit
A. Check that the battery charging circuit is operating correctly.
Refer to Troubleshooting, “Alternator Problem”.

Result: The charging circuit is not OK.
Repair: Repair the charging circuit, as necessary.
Result: The charging circuit is OK.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
2. Batteries
A. Verify that the battery or batteries are no longer able to hold a
charge. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, “Bat-
tery - Test”.
Battery Result: One of the batteries is not OK.
Repair: Replace the faulty battery. Refer to the Operation
and Maintenance Manual.
Result: The battery or batteries are OK.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
3. Auxiliary Device
A. Check if an auxiliary device has drained the battery or batteries
by being left in the ON position.

Result: The battery or batteries have been drained by an
auxiliary device being left in the ON position.
Repair: Charge the battery or batteries. Verify that the battery
or batteries are able to maintain a charge. Refer to Systems
Operation/Testing and Adjusting for the correct procedure.
Result: The battery or batteries have not been drained by an
auxiliary device being left in the ON position.
