11. 04.11 Needle thread tension release
Requirement
With the presser foot lifted, the two tension disks must be at least 0.5 mm apart.
● Raise the presser foot using the hand lever.
● Align the compression plate 1 behind the tension bearing board 2 in accordance with the
requirement.
When the tension is correct the release pin must not be under pressure.

The distance of 0.5 mm is the minimum clearance. The clearance can range up
to more than 1 mm with thick threads.
