2-2 Efficia CM Series Network Configuration Guide
The Efficia Central receives the positive or negative ACK message from the server
and then returns the ACK message to the monitor.
LAN System Requirements
Your monitor and LAN must meet the following minimum requirements:
Efficia software release A.01.
Local Area Network using Ethernet TCP/IP IEEE 802.3.
Network cables must be Cat 5 or better, RJ-45, unshielded twisted pair (no
crossover cables).
Warning To ensure patient electrical isolation, connect only to other equipment that provides
patient electrical isolation. Do not use shielded LAN cables.
The network must be properly routed so that the destination server is reachable
from the monitor. To check connectivity from the monitor, see “Sending a Ping” on
page 6-2.
LAN Configuration Overview
To configure the network settings on the monitor, follow these steps:

Obtain LAN Network Information
Obtain the following information from your network administrator. The information you
need to configure the monitor depends on your network configuration.
