Saving Patient Data to a USB flash drive
Efficia CM Series patient monitors (CM10, CM12, CM100, CM120 and CM150) still support
exporting patient data to a USB drive. However, exported patient data on a USB drive is
not encrypted and therefore raises privacy concerns.
Note — Trend and alarm data can be saved to a USD flash drive. This is done in the Data
Export Menu by pressing the Patient Data button. This function is protected by
the System Admin password. Data is not encrypted, but the patient names are
replaced by *** to avoid any data privacy issues. The following text is displayed
in red below the Save Patient Data button on the Data Export Menu:
“Warning: Do not unplug the monitor or remove the USB flash drive. The data is
not encrypted.
Warning Printed patient records contain patient IDs and patient data. Ensure that the printed data
is handled according to your facility’s electronic protected health information (ePHI)
guidelines.
Only authorized personnel should be allowed to view, handle, store or transmit patient
data.
EAP Credentials
After loading the required certificates, you must also enter the following credentials in
the Security Settings Menu:
EAP TLS: User Name, Domain, and Client Certificate
PEAP MSCHAPVS: User Name, Password, and Domain
EAP TTLS: User Name and Password
Importing Certificates
Before importing certificates, verify that the monitor date is correct. If the monitor date is
outside the time range configured in the certificate, the certificate will not be accepted as
a valid certificate.
Ensure that the certificate meets the requirements in “Configuring Security Settings” on
page 3-9.
To import certificates to the monitor:
Step
1
Insert the USB flash drive that contains one or both certificates into the USB
port on the rear of the monitor.
2
Select the System button in the toolbar to open the System Menu.
3
Select the Admin tab.
