Configuring LAN Network Settings
Efficia CM Series Network Configuration Guide 2-5
LAN Configuration Overview
Configuring the Monitor’s IP Address
Note — The Monitor Name is used to register as the DNS hostname.
The default Monitor Name is the monitor’s serial number. It can be changed from
both the monitor display (select the monitor name at the bottom) or the
General
tab on the
System Menu. After the monitor name is changed, it is used to register
as hostname. If registration fails, the monitor keeps the new name but the
hostname is not identifiable in the network.
To configure IP address settings for the monitor:
Connecting to the LAN Network
To connect the monitor to your LAN, plug one end of an RJ-45 Ethernet cable into the
Ethernet port on the back of the monitor and the other end into a LAN port.
After you configure the TCP/IP address of the designated server and enable the Data
Export function (as described in the previous sections), the monitor attempts to establish
a connection to the server.
When a connection is established, a Connection icon appears in the top left of the
patient record table. The connection remains in effect indefinitely. If the network goes
down or the monitor is shut down, the monitor will attempt to reestablish the connection
when the next export interval is due to occur.
