Security and Encryption Options
The radio supports the following security, encryption and authentication methods,
including 802.11x EAP authentication:
If your infrastructure uses a RADIUS server for EAP authentication, you must install the
required certificates on your monitor, as described in “EAP Authentication” on page 3-8
before configuring other wireless network settings on the monitor.
Site Planning
Spectrum management and RF assessment are the responsibility of the hospital. Philips
Healthcare has no control over the RF environment in the hospital. If interference exists
at the operating frequencies, the wireless system could be negatively affected.
RF Assessment
Before installing Efficia CM Series wireless monitors in your facility, assess the intended
installation site for RF interference or other factors that could degrade wireless
performance. The reliability and quality of the wireless signal transmission through the air
and hospital walls are governed by a number of variables that can be difficult to control.
The effect of low signal strength and interference can range from a momentary loss of
connectivity to a lengthy period of lost connectivity. If connectivity is lost, monitoring and
alarms continue at the monitor. The trending database stores the last 240 hours of trend
data and automatically purges data that is older than 240 hours. Every one minute (60
