Sending a Ping
Troubleshooting
6-2 Efficia CM Series Network Configuration Guide
Sending a Ping
Use the following procedure to check the connectivity between the monitor and an
access point (AP) or EHR server.
To ping an AP or EHR server:
Releasing and Renewing the Monitor IP Address
If your network uses a DHCP server to assign IP addresses and you suspect an IP address
conflict, use the Release/Renew button to release the monitor’s current IP address and
obtain a new one.
To release the monitor’s IP address and obtain a new IP address:
Step
1 Open the
Network Test menu.
Note — If the monitor is connected to a Cisco AP, the Start Ping field displays the IP
address of the AP.
2 To change the IP address or to enter a new IP address or hostname, select
the field next to
Start Ping.
A keyboard appears.
3 Enter the IP address or hostname of the AP or destination server you want
to ping.
4 Select Start Ping.
The button name changes to Stop Ping. The log indicates if the ping was
successful and displays the round-trip times for messages sent and
received from the AP or server.
5 To stop the ping, select the Stop Ping button.
Note — You cannot close the Network Test menu until you select the Stop Ping button.
Step
1 Open the Network Test menu.
2 To view the IP address currently assigned to the monitor, select the Wireless
list.
The current IP address appears in the list.
Note — The LAN IP address is displayed in the LAN IP Address field in the
System Menu on the General tab.
3 Select Release/Renew.
The log indicates that the monitor’s IP address has been released and a
new one assigned.
