Configuring Security Settings
Certificate Requirements
Certificates must adhere to the following requirements. If a certificate is in the wrong
format, it will not import successfully.

Other Requirements for the Client and CA Certificates:
• The file name of the certificate must not contain a forward slash character (/).
• The certificate file must be saved in a \Cert folder on the USB flash drive.
Certificate Requirements for SSL Security and Data Export
When you are setting up the monitor to connect to an Efficia CMS200 Central Monitoring
System or some other networked system for data export. and you want to use SSL
security, perform the following general steps.
For monitor connection to CMS200 Central with SSL security and data export:
1. Select correct CMS200 Central CA certificate on the Security menu.
2. Add monitor to Central.
3. If CMS200 Central supports SSL security, select SSL check box on the Central menu.
For monitor connection to a system with SSL security and data export:
1. Select the correct CA certificate for that system on the Security menu.
2. Select SSL check box on the Data Export menu.
Notes —
- CA certificates are required in the following two cases:
• Central connection with SSL enabled
• Data Export with SSL enabled
- Any time that you change the monitor connection to a different server, you
must first select the corresponding CMS200 Central or data export certificate
that is applicable to the new connection.
- After upgrading the Efficia CM Series software to A.01.03, the SSL security
options will default as not selected (OFF).
