Monitor cannot
connect to
wireless
network. The
wireless
connectivity
icon does not
appear.
The AP is malfunctioning. At the monitor, ping the AP. (See
“Sending a Ping” on page 6-2.) If the
ping fails, verify that the AP is
powered on.
Ping the AP again. If the ping fails
again, try restarting the AP.
Invalid configuration
settings.
At the monitor, open the
Available
Wireless Networks
Menu and verify
that the IP address settings are
correct. Ensure that the monitor and
the AP are on the same subnet.
At the WLAN controller, verify that
the IP address settings are correct.
IP address conflict or
monitor cannot acquire an
IP address.
At the monitor, open the
Network
Test
menu and select the
Release/Renew button.
Wireless
connectivity
icon indicates a
weak signal (less
than 2 bars) and
Signal Strength
is less than –71
dBm.
Antenna is damaged. Exchange the monitor with another
wireless monitor and check the
signal strength on the other monitor.
If the other monitor has a strong
signal, check the first monitor for
damage to the antenna or check the
connection between the antenna
and the radio board.
If the antenna is damaged, replace
the module.

Available
Wireless
Networks
list is
empty.
SSID broadcast is disabled
on your network.
If your network does not broadcast
its SSID, follow the procedure in
“SSID Broadcast Disabled” on
page 3-15.
Monitor does
not connect to
SSID. The
Connected and
Associated
messages enter
a loop.
Incorrect password. Select the SSID from the Available
Wireless Networks
list and re-enter
the correct password.
If you cannot select the SSID, open
the Network Test menu, disable the
radio, and try re-entering the
password. Check that you are
selecting the correct SSID and
entering the correct password for
that SSID.
