Replacing an INTERBUS Device
When replacing a device, proceed as follows:
1. Put the system into a safe state.
2. Switch off the power supply of the corresponding bus seg-
ment.
3. Unplug the bus cable from the device (does not apply to
IB ST modules).
4. Unplug the signal cable/COMBICON from the IBS device
(does not apply to IB ST modules).
5. Remove the IBS device. For IB ST, pull out the electronics
module.
6. Transfer the settings/configuration to the new device.
7. Install the new device. For IB ST, insert the new electron-
ics module.
8. Connect the signal cable/COMBICON to the device (does
not apply to IB ST modules).
9. Connect the bus cable to the device (does not apply to IB
ST modules).
10. Switch on the power supply of the corresponding bus seg-
ment.

Signal cables which are connected to COMBICON
screw-clamp connectors must not be removed when
replacing the device.
