5.2.1.2.2 Azimuth Calibration
CONFIG-AZIM
CCW:-180.000 CW: 180.000
PSF:10431 ROFF:-180.000 DIR:0
CCW LIMIT <+/-300.000 DEGREES>
CCW: CCW LIMIT <+/- 300.000 DEGREES>
CW: CW LIMIT <+/- 300.000 DEGREES>
These items specify the antenna's azimuth range of travel. The angles refer to the raw resolver angle (see
section 5.1.1.) When the RC4500 calculates an antenna pointing solution based on satellite longitude in
MOVETO mode, it checks these values to see if the dish can be physically moved to that position.
Note that these values may also be used to actually limit the motion of the antenna. The CW Range
should be set to the azimuth position which is displayed when the antenna is at the CW limit. In a similar
manner, the CCW Range should be set to the azimuth position which corresponds to the controller's
azimuth counter-clockwise limit.
PSF: PULSE SCALE FACTOR <1 – 32767 CNTS/RAD>
This value specifies the approximate number of pulses measured per radian of azimuth travel. This value
is used by inclined orbit tracking algorithms for determining movement amount (in pulses.)
NOTE: The default value for this item will typically be correct.
ROFF: RESOLVER OFFSET <+/- 300.000 DEGREES>
This item defines the offset to be applied to the angle read directly from the azimuth resolver for the
purpose of displaying the azimuth angle.
DIR: COUNT DIRECTION <0-NORMAL 1-REVERSED>
This item specifies the polarity of the raw resolver angle. If the resolver angle decreases when the
antenna mount moves CW, then the DIR item must be described as reversed.
