RC4500 Antenna Controller Chapter 3 Mechanical & Electrical Installation
58
NOTE: SHIELDED CABLE IS REQUIRED FOR THE RESOLVER CONNECTIONS. THE
SHIELD MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE RC4500 CHASSIS GROUND AT THE CONTROLLER
AND MUST NOT BE CONNECTED AT THE ANTENNA.
3.4.2.4.3 Az Resolver
Three shielded twisted-pairs for each resolver are required to minimize noise pickup and cross-coupling,
which can result in antenna positioning errors. A cable such as Belden 8777 (RCI p/n CBL-3X2_22STP1)
is recommended. Most resolvers have flying lead connections. Wire-to-wire interconnects can be
accomplished with solder and heat shrink tubing or a waterproof crimp connector such as 3M
ScotchlokUY2 (RCI p/n CN-JIZR-2).
J6 is dedicated to the azimuth axis resolver. The mating connector for the Resolver Board position J6 is
Phoenix p/n 1881396.
