RC4500 Antenna Controller Chapter 4 Software Configuration / Installation
70
For antennas implementing a resolver for polarization position feedback, a reference position is derived
from an offset of the raw resolver angle.
4.2.3.3.2 Polarization Offset for Resolver
First verify that the polarization resolver offset (ROFF) value is set to 0.000 in the CONFIG
POLARIZATION CALIBRATION screen.
CONFIG-POL
CCW:-100.000 CW: 100.000
PSF:10431 ROFF: 0.000 DIR:0
RESOLVER OFFSET <+/-300.000 DEGREES>
Go to the MANUAL mode and press the SCROLL UP key until PL: changes to PR:. The displayed
position should now show the raw resolver angle.

PR: 185.46 SPD:FAST UTC
<MODE>MENU <0-9>JOG ANTENNA 14:25:47
In this example, the raw resolver angle for polarization is 185.46 (resolver approximately centered.)
Going back to the CONFIG POLARIZATION CALIBRATION screen, a resolver offset (ROFF) of -185.46
should be entered.
CONFIG-POL
CCW:-100.000 CW: 100.000
PSF:10431 ROFF:-185.460 DIR:0
RESOLVER OFFSET <+/-300.000 DEGREES>
Returning to the MANUAL mode, a POL angle of 0.00 should then be observed.
