The turning handle (C) of the grinding jar support (G) is secured by the locking pin (D) to
prevent inadvertent opening.
Pull out the locking pin (D) to release it from the groove (DN).
Turn the locking pin 90 degrees in order to release it permanently.
Turn the turning handle (C) anticlockwise to open the grinding jar support.
CAUTION Only remove the grinding jar with closed lid. Only open the grinding jar once it
has cooled down and only in a safe position (e.g. under a suction device).

6.7.2 Closing
With the Emax a very large amount of energy enters the sample material.
Therefore, make sure that the grinding jar support has been closed properly.
Before grinding check the lock on the grinding jar support (VR).
