Default: [Off]
Enhance File Protection
This can be specified by the file administrator. By specifying a password, you can limit operations
such as printing, deleting, and sending files, and can prevent unauthorized people from accessing
the files. However, it is still possible for the password to be cracked.
By specifying "Enhance File Protection", files are locked and so become inaccessible if an invalid
password is entered ten times. This can protect the files from unauthorized access attempts in which
a password is repeatedly guessed.
The locked files can only be unlocked by the file administrator. When "Enhance File Protection" is
specified, ( ) appears in the lower right corner of the screen.
When files are locked, you cannot select them even if the correct password is entered.
Default: [Off]
Settings by SNMPv1, v2
This can be specified by the network administrator. When the machine is accessed using the SNMPv1,
v2 protocol, authentication cannot be performed, allowing machine administrator settings such as
the paper setting to be changed. If you select [Prohibit], the setting can be viewed but not specified
with SNMPv1, v2.
Default: [Do not Prohibit]
Restrict Use of Simple Encryption
This can be specified by the network administrator. Select whether or not to cancel communication
when advanced encryption cannot be used. If you set this to [On], you can only scan files with the
TWAIN driver if the password has been encrypted with the driver encryption key. If you set this to
[On], specify the driver encryption key. For details about specifying the TWAIN driver encryption
key, see the TWAIN driver Help.
Default: [Off]
Authenticate Current Job
This setting can only be specified by the machine administrator. You can specify whether or not
authentication is required for operations such as suspending or canceling jobs in progress. If you
enable [Login Privilege], only authorized users and the machine administrator can carry out such
operations. Authentication will not be required for users who logged in to the machine before [Login
Privilege] was enabled. If you enable [Access Privilege], only the job owner and the machine
administrator can carry out operations such as suspending or canceling jobs. Even if you are
authenticated by [Login Privilege] and can log in to the machine, you cannot suspend or cancel jobs
if you are not authorized to use the function under which the job is in progress. You can only specify
[Authenticate Current Job] if [User Authentication Management] has been enabled.
Default: [Off]
Password Policy
