Overview
Eects
This instrument features a variety of eects.
For eect parameters, refer to the “Parameter Guide” (Roland website).
Tone eects 
(MFX (*1), COMP, Partial EQ)
These eects are congured per tone. COMP can be used for the 
drum kit instruments.
Part eects 
(MFX (*1), EQ)
These eects are congured per part.
Scene eects 
(IFX, Chorus/Delay (*2), Reverb)
These eects are congured per scene.
System eects 
(EQ, Chorus/Delay (*2), Reverb)
These eects apply to the system overall.
MIC eects 
(Noise Suppressor, EQ, Reverb, COMP)
These eects are applied to the input sound from the MIC INPUT jack.
(*1):  For the MFX, you can store the tone eect and part eect separately, 
and switch between settings you want to use.
(*2):  Chorus/delay and reverb are stored separately for the scene eect 
and for the system eects, and you can switch between settings you 
want to use.
The XPS-60 includes the following built-in eects, and each can be congured independently.

Multi-eect (MFX)
This is an all-purpose multi-eect that transforms the sound into a completely dierent 
type of sound.
There are 93 kinds of multi-eects, so you can select and use the ones that meet your 
needs.
Aside from straightforward eects like distortion, anger and so forth, there are a 
variety of eect types. There is one multi-eect setting for each tone.
Partial EQ (PARTIAL EQ)
An equalizer that you can apply to the partial of each tone. You can adjust the high, 
midrange and low frequencies separately.
Drum kit compressor (KIT COMP)
You can use six dierent compressors for the drum kit. These compressors can be 
assigned to each drum instrument.
*  There are six compressors for use with the drum kit, which are enabled only for parts 
set as part 8 (part R).
Kit instrument EQ (KIT EQ)
An equalizer that you can apply to each drum instrument. You can adjust the high, 
midrange and low frequencies separately.

Part EQ (PART EQ)
An equalizer that you can apply to each part. You can adjust the high, midrange and low 
frequencies separately.
Insert eect (IFX)
This is an all-purpose insert eect that transforms the sound into something that’s 
completely dierent.
There are 93 kinds of insert eects, so you can select and use the ones that meet your 
needs. Use this when you want to apply more eects in addition to multi-eects.
This eect is common to all parts.

Vocoder
An eect that applies a human vocal character to the synthesizer sound to produce a 
sound like someone singing.
System eects
System eects
System EQ (SYSTEM EQ)
The system EQ is an equalizer that is applied to the entire sound engine of this 
instrument.
You can adjust the high, midrange and low frequencies separately.
Chorus/delay (CHORUS/DELAY) The chorus/delay adds thickness and spaciousness to the sound.
Reverb (REVERB) The reverb eect simulates the reverberations heard when playing in a hall.
Eect applied to the MIC

Noise Suppressor Suppresses background noise during silence.
Mic EQ (EQ) An equalizer that’s applied to the input sound from the MIC INPUT jack.
Mic reverb (Reverb) A reverb that’s applied to the input sound from the MIC INPUT jack.
Mic COMP (Comp) A compressor that’s applied to the input sound from the MIC INPUT jack.
