Playing back audio les (audio player)
You can assign audio les saved on a USB ash drive to the pads [1]–[8] for playback.
Audio les that can be played (WAV/AIFF)
Sample rate 44.1, 48 kHz
Bit rate 8, 16 or 24 bits
NOTE
¹ You can’t play back two or more audio les at the same time.
¹ The tempo of the audio les can’t be changed.
Assigning audio les to pads for playback
1. Format the USB ash drive on the XPS-60 (p. 54).
2. Turn o the XPS-60 and then unplug the USB ash
drive.
3. On your computer, create a new subfolder inside
the “SONG LIST folder.
* Use single-byte alphanumeric characters for the folder name.

4. Copy the audio les you want to play into the
subfolder you’ve created.
5. Insert the USB ash drive into this instrument, and
turn on the power.
6. Press the [AUDIO] button.
The AUDIO PLAYER screen appears.
7. Congure the audio player settings.
Parameter Value Explanation
Song List
Shows the subfolders inside the SONG LIST folder on
the USB ash drive.
Audio Level 0–127
Sets the volume of the audio le.
MEMO
You can also Set this from the
[PHRASE PAD] slider.
* The Audio Level value is reset
when you turn o the power. If
you want to store the value in
memory so that it can be recalled
after the power is turned o and
on again, save the system settings
(p. 33).
Pitch Link
OFF
(default), ON
When this is ON, if you change the
Pitch setting of one pad, the Pitch
setting of the other pads changes to
the same value.
Speed Link
OFF
(default), ON
When this is ON, if you change the
Speed setting of one pad, the Speed
setting of the other pads changes to
the same value.
PAD1–8
Name Shows the audio les assigned to the pads.
Loop Switch OFF, ON
Turns repeat playback on/o.
MEMO
You can also turn the loop on/o
by pressing the pad while holding
down the [SHIFT] button.

* Never turn o the power or disconnect the USB ash drive if you
have edited the settings.
8. To edit the song list, press the [ENTER] button.
The audio les in the selected folder are assigned to the pads, in
order from the top. For example, if you select the SONG1 folder,
the les are assigned as shown in the illustration below.

MEMO
The les in the folders are shown in numeric and alphabetical
order, and eight les are assigned in order from the top.
