4-4 Replacing Consumable Parts
Replacing the Wipers
The wipers are components that you use when
cleaning the print heads. When the screen displays
a message like the one shown, it means the item
needs to be replaced. Replace with new items.
CAUTION
Be sure to perform operations as specied by these instructions,
and never touch any area not specied in the instructions.
Sudden movement of the machine may cause injury.
1. Display the [REPLACE WIPER] menu.

Remove any media from the platen.


The print-head carriage moves to a location where wiper
replacement is possible, and then the screen shown in the
gure appears.

Remove the side cover.
