Connecting to Your Computer/MIDI Keyboard
3
Connect the other end of the Computer cable to the Serial connector
(SERIAL) of the SC-8820.
Installing the Serial MIDI Driver
In order to connect your computer to the SC-8820 via a computer cable, you must
first install the Serial MIDI driver (MIDI driver). The Serial MIDI driver is contained
in the included CD-ROM.
The Serial MIDI driver is software that passes data between your computer applica-
tion (sequencer software etc.) and the SC-8820 when your computer is connected via
a computer cable to the SC-8820.
The Serial MIDI driver passes data from the application program to the SC-8820, and
passes MIDI messages from the SC-8820 to the application program.

Connecting to a Computer via the MIDI Connectors
If you use the MIDI connectors, you will need to obtain a computer interface board
(adaptor) that has MIDI connectors (such as the Roland Super MPU II, etc.).
