CERTIFICATION The 3144P is certified to IEC61508 for single transmitter use in Safety
Instrumented Systems up to SIL 2 and redundant transmitter use in Safety
Instrumented Systems up to SIL 3. The software is suitable for SIL 3
application.

IDENTIFICATION
To identify Safety Instrumented System (SIS) safety-certified 3144P
transmitters, verify one of the following:
1. See a yellow tag affixed to outside of transmitter.
2. Verify the option code QT in the model string.
INSTALLATION No special installation is required in addition to the standard installation
practices outlined in this document. Always ensure a proper seal by installing
the electronics housing cover(s) so that metal contacts metal.

The loop should be designed so the terminal voltage does not drop below 12
Vdc when the transmitter output is 24.5 mA.
