Ambient Conditions
Before you set up your balance, choose a suitable
place which meets the following requirements:
– level, low-vibration weighing table
or a wall console;
– no direct exposure to sunlight, heaters, or similar
sources of heat. This can considerably
increase the temperature inside the draft shield
(greenhouse effect), resulting in incorrect readouts
due to convection currents, turbulence and
buoyancy effects;
– no drafts from open windows or doors;
– avoid brief fluctuations in room temperature.
The balance is not allowed to be used in hazardous
areas/locations where there is danger of explosion.
Do not expose the balance to extreme moisture
over long periods. Moisture in the air can condense
on the surfaces of a cold balance whenever it
is brought to a substantially warmer place.
If you transfer the balance to a warmer area, make
sure to condition it for about 2 hours at room
temperature, leaving it unplugged.
