6 Periodic inspections
The requirements may differ due to local regulations in each country.
6.1 Daily operator monitoring
The operator is obliged to inspect the emergency lighting panel daily. Visually verify the
integrity of the cabinet. Check the AC230V and DC24V feed, battery status, normal status of
coupling modules and battery manager from status menu. Document the audit in the
operational log.
6.2 Operator quarterly inspection
Complete the steps of the daily check, and
- Read the results of the last function and battery tests. Run a screen function test if
necessary
- Check the event list up to the last quarterly maintenance period
- Remove the power from the control panel, make sure the system is battery powered
- Check the operation of the Ac control modules, activate them one by one and check
the switching on of the luminaire groups.
- Ensure the integrity of the luminaires, sufficient visibility of exit luminaires
- Document the inspection in the operation logbook, note any faults, notify the
maintenance company if repairs are required.
6.3 Maintenance semi-annual/annual inspection
On top of the quarterly verification steps, do the following:
- at least 1 hour battery test, check the DC voltage of batteries, power supply with a
multimeter. Use a current meter to measure battery charge.
- Check all cable connections, fuses
- Turn on all lights, measure current consumption in both normal and emergency mode
- Read the status of all luminaires
- Check the communication status of the interface modules, battery manager, AC
controllers
- Put the system in maintenance mode for half an hour, download and analyze the report.
- Examine all recent events
- Update control panel firmware if necessary
- Make necessary repairs
- Hold repeated training on how to use the system
