4) Connect the Equipment Under Test (EUT) and Mains Supply to the External Leakage Adaptor.
Note: That connecting both the EUT and mains supply to the External Leakage Adaptor will connect the
Mains Supply to the EUT.
For further information see your External Leakage Adaptor supplier.
13.9 Socket Test
When performing a Socket Test the instrument is subjected to mains voltage.
The socket test uses the Black Mains lead and Black Test Socket (on the PrimeTest) to perform the
test.
The IEC lead input is a test socket and is not intended to be connected directly to mains. Do not
connect this input to the mains supply.
Remove all other connections before performing an RCD test.
All PrimeTest instruments are supplied with a Black Mains lead, this lead needs to be plugged into the Black
test socket on the instrument and to the socket to be tested.
From the PrimeTest Home Screen select (F1) then select the Manual PAT button
(F3).
In the Manual PAT window select Socket Test (F2).
Use the green start button to perform the Socket Test.
Alternatively, there is a pre-set Auto Test Sequence on the PrimeTest Elite+ for the Socket Outlet Check.
This allows an inspection and electrical test to be performed on the Socket to be tested.
