Thermostat Inspection
◆
Remove the thermostat, and inspect the thermostat
valve

at room temperature.
If the valve is open, replace the valve with a new one.

To check valve opening temperature, suspend the
thermostat

and an accurate thermometer

in a container of water with the heat-sensitive
portions
【

in almost the same depth.
NOTE
Take care against burns from hot engine oil that will
drain through the oil passage when the gauge adapter
is removed.
◆
Gradually raise the temperature of the water while
stirring the water gently for even temperature.
If the measurement is out of the range, replace the
thermostat.
