Bicycle chain
WARNING
Alwaysremovethebatterybeforestartingtoworkonthepedelec.
The cycle could switch on without warning and you could be seriously
injured.
CAUTION
Checkthechainforsignsofwearbeforeeverytrip.A worn or
damaged chain can break. If this happens while you are riding the
bike, you can easily injure yourself.
DANGER
Practisebrakinginasafeplacebeforeventuringintoroadtrac.In
some instances, the braking eect can be dierent or stronger than
what you are used to. If you do not take the time to familiarise yourself
with the braking eect, you could cause a serious accident. Practise
until you feel safe. Dismount if you ever feel unsafe.
Rim brake
Rimbrakes:Avoidcontinual,uninterrupted
brakingonlongdownhillstretchesbecause
it causes the braking eect to diminish and/
or tyre damage. Brake intermittently with
intervals in between to allow the airow to
cool the braking system.
If necessary, make regular stops to ensure
adequate cooling.
Replacethebrakepadswhentheyreachthesafewearlimit.Using
worn brake pads can result in serious injuries with fatal consequences.
CAUTION
Disc brake
Discbrakes:Avoidtouchingthebrakediscs
afterintensiveuseofthebrakes – they can
become very hot. You could burn yourself if
you touch them.
