10.8 Preset – move to initialization position
A preset is used to specify a customer-specific initialization value at an initialization
position as a distance output value. This is helpful, for example, during commissioning,
maintenance or device replacement. The automatically calculated distance offset value
is permanently saved in the device. Triggering the preset overwrites a previously availa‐
ble distance offset. The following applies at the initialization position:
Preset = output distance value = measured distance value x measuring direction +
distance offset
The parameterization depending on the selected preset type as well as the methods for
subsequent triggering of the preset are described below.
Resetting a previously performed preset is done according to see "Resetting preset /
autozero", page 67.
NOTE
The preset should be triggered during at standstill or at very low speed.
The maximum activation number is typically around 10,000 cycles.
NOTE
All methods described below for setting or resetting a preset, with the exception of the
static preset via explicit EtherNet/IP message services, are edge controlled. Renewed
activation of a function is only possible after previous deactivation of the respective
function via falling edge 1→0.
10.8.1 Triggering static preset via multifunction input MF1
1. Enter the desired distance output value at the initialization position via attribute
132 "[MF1 Input] Preset". Unit: mm
2. Make the following parameter settings:
°
Attribute 121 "[MF1] Function": "4: INPUT_PRESET_STATIC"
°
Attribute 120 "[MF1] Active Level": Set desired active level "0: HIGH" or "1:
LOW"
3. Drive the vehicle to the initialization position.
4. Trigger the preset. To do so, activate digital input MF1, for example using a proxim‐
ity switch, a photoelectric sensor, or a switch.
✓
The edge change from inactive → active of the input signal sets the distance out‐
put value to the initialization value entered in attribute 132 "[MF1 Input] Preset".
