Gate control
button
An on/off button located on top of the divert gate that
turns the station power, divert gate, and interface
gate on and off. Press the gate control button to turn
the station off. Lift the gate control button to turn the
station on.
Global Test List A list of all laboratory tests that can be performed on
or off the automation system. The ADVIA CentraLink
system, the instrument test lists, and the sort tray use
the global test list to determine the routing of sample
tubes.

ID Unique numeric identifier assigned to a sample for a
specific test.
Instrument Analyzer that conducts medical tests or procedures on
samples.
Instrument Test
List
Subset of of the global test list that defines which tests
are performed by a specific analyzer or module
connected to the automation system.
Interface
computer
Computer that is interfaced with the LineMaster
workspace and the instrument or module.
An interface computer controls signals and
communication data to and from the instrument or
module
Interface gate Station that interfaces with the instrument or module
or can be used for manual loading and unloading.
Each side track has an interface gate.
