6. Using a cloth moistened with a 10% bleach solution, clean the
underside of the lid.
7. Ensure that you clean the area where the underside of the lid contacts
the seal.
Inspecting and Cleaning the Buckets and Rotor
Perform the following steps to clean the buckets and to clean and lubricate
the rotor:
1. While the Centrifuge module is in the Shutdown state, remove the
buckets.
CAUTION
Do not operate the Centrifuge module without inspecting and cleaning
the buckets and rotor routinely. Failure to clean and lubricate the buckets
and rotor will result in an imbalance during centrifugation. An imbalance
condition causes the Centrifuge module to shut down, requiring removal
of all sample tubes.
Cleaning Cycle
Replacement Cycle
Weekly or every 200 cycles, whichever
comes first.
190,000 cycles or the date posted on
the Hettich unit bucket, whichever
comes first.
Materials Needed Cleaning cloth.
10% bleach solution.
Cleaning agents.
Use cleaning agents and disinfectants
with a pH value in the 5–8 range. Avoid
alkaline cleaning agents with a pH
value > 8. Follow all guidelines from
the manufacturer of the cleaning agent
or disinfectant.
Hettich lubricating grease.
Isopropyl alcohol.
