7.3 Testing detectors
Depending on the detector, testing may be performed with one or more of the
following accessories:
Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292 or intelligent detector tester
FDUD293 (recommended)
Test gas, optical
‒ REF 8-S (recommended)
‒ REF 8
CO test gas
‒ REF 8-C (for CO sensor)
Hot air fan
7.3.1 Testing the fire detection functionality
The following table shows the accessories with which the FDOOTC241 can be
tested in the various sensor modes.

If detector FDOOTC241 is in test mode, the following must be noted:
In test mode, the detector responds according to the parameter set selected. This
means when the neural fire detector is operated as a heat detector (sensor
mode 1), it must be thermally checked as well.
Selecting the test mode on the fire control panel does not deactivate evaluation of
the 'Technical CO Alarm' and 'Technical Ambient Supervision Alarm'
functionalities.
If the detector is in alarm status, the internal alarm indicator flashes brightly every
second.
