SNTP
Abbreviation for "Simple Network Time Protocol".
The protocol is used between time servers and terminal devices in a
network to synchronize the time of the terminal devices.
SPE
Abbreviation for „Signaling & Payload Encryption“.
A security extension for communications systems to encrypt calls
(Signaling
 TLS) and audio data (Payload  SRTP/SRTCP).
SRSR
Abbreviation for "Small Remote Sites Redundancy".
SRTP/SRTCP
Abbreviation for "Secure Real Time Protocol" or "Secure Real Time Control
Protocol".
The SRTP protocol is a more secure version of the  RTP protocol and is
used in IP telephony for secure transmission of voice data between
stations. The SRTCP protocol determines the QoS characteristics for
received streams. This provides senders with feedback that they can use
to optimize voice stream emission.
Subnet Mask
Classifies networks into A-, B- and C networks. Each class has a subnet
mask that demasks the relevant bits. 255.0.0.0 for Class A, 255.255.0.0 for
Class B and 255.255.255.0 for Class C. In a Class C network, for instance,
there are 254
 IP Addresss.
Switch
Transmission position in a star-shaped network.
URL
Abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator. The URL is the address of a file
(site), which is accessible via the internet. The type of file is determined
via the access protocol (not the file type!). For example, HTML pages, Java
applets, CGI scripts etc. are supported by the HTTP protocol. An URL
comprises:
• The access protocol
• A host name in the domain
• A specific file name
VoIP
Abbreviation for "Voice over IP".
In other words voice transmission through  IP technology.
