Administration
The following pages describe how to make administration settings for the
optiPoint
410/420 on the HiPath 2000, HiPath OpenOffice, HiPath 3000/
5000 and HiPath
4000 communication platforms.
There are different ways to make administration settings for the
optiPoint
410/420:
• Locally on the telephone:
– optiPoint 410/420 economy/economy plus/standard/advance

– optiPoint 410 entry  Page 39
• Remote maintenance through LAN:
– Web-based management tool  Page 51.
– DLS (see DLS Administration Manual).
Some functions of the optiPoint 410/420 display module or
application
module are administered directly on the display module or
application
module  Page 45.
Execution of the configuration and diagnostics jobs described below
requires good knowledge of network technology as well as of network
protocols, as is normally required of network administrators.
For your support you will find some background information in Section
„Alphabetical Reference“  Page 68.
Administration of an optiPoint 410/420 (locally or through remote
maintenance) is only possible if a conversation is not being
conducted over this telephone.
The configuration settings and diagnostics jobs are only executable
with restrictions via the telephone.
Only web-based management allows unrestricted access to all
configuration menus.
