Overview of the Ident library
The Ident library with the Ident profile and the Ident blocks are integrated in STEP 7 as of
version V13 SP1. You will find the blocks in the "Instructions" tab under "Optional packages
> SIMATIC Ident".

Difference between Ident library and "SIMATIC Ident" technology object
The Ident library is described below. As of TIA Portal V14 SP1, you can use the "SIMATIC
Ident" technology object for S7
-1200 and S7-1500 controllers to facilitate configuration and
programming. You can find all information on the technology object in the relevant TIA online
help.
