4.3.3 Install base image on CFast card
Requirements
● USB flash drive with Debian Live system.
● Restore USB flash drive with base image for Ready4Linux.
● A keyboard is connected to the PC.
● The CFast card is inserted into the PC.
Procedure
1. Insert the USB flash drive with the Debian Live system into the PC.
2. Start the PC system and press "Esc" to open the boot menu.
3. Select the USB flash drive with Debian Live system as boot device.
4. Select the Debian Live system "Debian GNU/Linux Live (kernel version)" from the main
menu.
The desktop environment is started.
5. Insert the Restore USB flash drive into the PC.
6. Open the terminal with root privileges in the "/bin" directory of the Restore USB flash
drive.
7. To start the Backup and Restore Tool (Page 72), enter the command "./s7_restore_tool".
8. To write the base image to the CFast card, enter the following command line:
./s7-restore-tool -i ../CPU1505SPF.img -d /dev/sdc -f
– ../CPU1505SPF.img

9. Click "Y" to confirm the message that all data on the CFast card will be deleted.
10.To use the new partition table, restart Linux with the command "--reboot".
Result
You can use the base image and install a Linux on the CFast card (Page 35).
