4.7.2 Installing packages with Linux components
Requirements
● The third partition "/dev/sda3" is mounted in the file system.
● You have root privileges.
Procedure
To install the packages with the Linux components, proceed as follows:
1. Navigate to the folder which contains the packages.
root@debian:~# cd /mnt/media/SWCPU/packages/debian
2. Install the packages as follows:
apt install siemens-swcpu-drivers-dkms_2.7.0.0-1_amd64.deb
apt install siemens-swcpu-man-pages_2.7.0.0-1_amd64.deb
3. Restart the operating system.
Result
The packages with the Linux components are installed and the MAC addresses for the
virtual Ethernet interfaces are checked. Unique MAC addresses are protected during
installation; default MAC addresses are replaced by random MAC addresses from a MAC
pool of addresses.
4.7.3 Uninstalling packages with Linux components
Requirement
You have root privileges.
Procedure
To uninstall the packages with the Linux components, enter the following command:
apt remove siemens-swcpu-drivers-dkms siemens-swcpu-man-pages
Result
The packages with the Linux components are uninstalled.
