Fault analysis and rectification:
Pump does not supply lubricant; no
pressure build
-up
• Measure the motor current. If current is too
high:
– Remove the pump, crank it by hand:
If resistance is high, replace the pump
• Measure the motor current. If current is too
high:
– Dismantle motor, crank by hand:
If resistance is high, replace the motor
Incorrect rotational direction of motor
• Check the pressure limiting valve to make sure
that its opening pressure is correct and that
there is no contamination or damage.
If opening pressure is incorrect and cannot be
adjusted, or if the pressure limiting valve is
damaged, replace the valve. Only use original
SKF spare parts.
If contaminated, clean the pressure limiting
No pressure build up in the main line
• Air in the main line
• Main line leaky/broken
• Check the pressure limiting valve to make sure
that its opening pressure is correct and that
there is no contamination or damage.
If opening pressure is incorrect and cannot be
adjusted, or if the pressure limiting valve is
damaged, replace the valve. Only use original
SKF spare parts.
If contaminated, clean the pressure limiting
• Pressure limiting valve does not close
No pressure build up in the main line
Pressure-relief valve does not close
• Clean or replace the pressure-relief valve. Only
use original SKF spare parts
Impermissible lubricant, see technical data)
• Remove the lubricant from the entire system
and dispose of lubricant properly; fill system
