The line is drawn as follows:
" Check the oil specification for the viscosity of the oil in question at +40°C/104 °F and +100°C/212 °F.
" Mark both points to the lower chart in the calibration drawing.
" Draw a line to the chart through these two points.
6.2.7 Defining the flowmeter cone level
" Find out oil temperature under normal operating conditions of the flowmeter unit in question.
" Draw a line that aligns with the temperature in question in the lower chart in the calibration drawing so
that it crosses the oil line.
" Draw a line up from the intersection of these two lines to the wanted oil flow level.
" See on which flow curve letter level you are on. The letter in question indicates the cone level.
Examples of adjustment curves include an ISO VG 150 oil for which:
" viscosity at +40°C is 150 cSt
" viscosity at +100°C is 14.5 cSt
6.2.8 Flow adjustment (see adjustment curves)
Before adjusting the flow through the meter, make sure that the relevant pressure and return lubrication tubes
are connected for each meter and that the input pressure is correct. First loosen the lock nut (2) of the flow
adjusting valve and then open the valve (1) sufficiently for the cone and the float to move upwards with the oil
flow (level set at factory). Remove the plug (3) and rotate the set screw (4) so that the indicator ring at the bot-
tom of the cone is positioned at the level of the desired letter.
After setting the cone, screw the cap (3) back into place with a max. torque of 4 Nm. To set the float between
the ADJ lines on the scale, open wide the adjusting valve (1) and then close it slowly until the float reaches the
required level. Finally, tighten the lock nut (2) to fix the adjustments with a max. torque of 4 Nm.
