Failsafe features
The output relay is set to alarm state when:
2 One of the sensors is in alarm mode and the set delay has elapsed.
2 Alarm electronics or one of the sensors are de-energized.
2 The sensor wire is broken.
2 The time-delay circuit is broken.
8.2.3 Alarm sensor
Type BS-12030 for flow tubes SF01A, SF20A and SF30A.
Inductive proximity switch with a two-wire connection.
Cable length 5 m.
8.3 Working principle BSC-051015 and BSC-12030
One control unit can be connected to 1 ... 10 BS-05/10-C, BS-15-C or BS-12030 alarm sensors. The monitor-
ing unit monitors the status of the sensors and, if just one sensor gives an alert, it activates a joint alarm after
the set delay. If the duration of the alarm mode is shorter than the set delay, the alarm will not occur. The
alarm status will be cleared when the alarm sensor returns to normal mode after 1/5 of the set delay time.
The sensor circuit is of the failsafe type, i.e. a power failure from the sensor circuit is interpreted as an alarm
state. Therefore, the connectors corresponding to the unconnected sensor positions must be equipped with
jumpers. The alarm output relay is also failsafe-connected. The loss of the relay’s control voltage causes an
alarm state.
The module has indicator LEDs for 1... 10 sensors, for the status of the output relay and the status of the de-
lay circuit. Sensor LEDs 1 ... 10 indicate the status of each sensor without delay. They are switched on in
alarm mode and switched off in normal mode. The OUT LEDs, red and green, indicate the alarm output sta-
tus. Green lights up in normal mode and red in alarm mode.
In normal mode, the sensor LEDs are off and the green OUT LED is switched on. When a sensor gives an
alarm, the corresponding LED lights on. The green LD is lit up during the delay period and after a delay, the
red OUT LED is switched on. When the sensor alarm switches off, the sensor LED switches off first and after
1/5 of the set delay, the green OUT LED lights up. Inside the casing, the electronics module has an indicator
LED, Prog, for monitoring the operation of the electronics. The green indicator LED flashes every 1s in normal
and alarm mode. The light flashes 5 times per second during the alarm delay or alarm exit delay.
