1. Retaining pins

1. Remove tether cord cap from en-
gine cutout switch. Open engine
compartment.
2. Loosen collar screw on air silencer
grommet.
3. Disconnect engine vent hose from
air silencer.
4. Unhook latch from air silencer. Re-
move air silencer.

When reinstalling belt guard, make
sure to reinstall retaining device(s).
NOTE: Belt guards are purposely
made slightly oversize to maintain ten-
sion on their pins and retainers pre-
venting undue noise and vibration. It
is important that this tension be main-
tained when reinstalling.
Drive Belt
Drive Belt Inspection
Inspect belt for cracks, fraying or ab-
normal wear (uneven wear, wear on
one side, missing cogs, cracked fab-
ric). If abnormal wear is noted, prob-
able cause could be pulley misalign-
ment, excessive RPM with frozen
track, fast starts without warm-up pe-
riod, burred or rusty sheave, oil on belt
or distorted spare belt. Contact an au-
thorized Ski-Doo dealer.
Drive Belt Removal
WARNING
Remove tether cord cap from en-
gine cutout switch before perform-
ing any maintenance or adjust-
ment, unless otherwise specified.
Vehiclemustbeparkedinasafe
place, away from the trail.
NOTE: Removal and installation of
drivebeltiseasierwhendrivenpul-
ley is held with brake so that it can not
rotate. Apply parking brake, for this
purpose.
Remove tether cord cap from engine
cutout switch.
Open hood.
Remove drive belt guard.
Push on drive belt between pulleys to
open driven pulley.
