Synchronizing Pump with Carburetor
Eliminate the throttle cable free-play by pressing
the throttle lever until a light resistance is felt,
then hold in place. The aligning marks on the
pump casting and on the lever must align. If not,
loosen the adjuster nut and adjust accordingly.
Retighten the adjuster nut.

Bleeding Oil Lines
S-Series Only
Remove air silencer and move carburetors aside.
All Models
Bleed main oil line (between tank and pump) by
loosening the bleeder screw until air has escaped
from the line. Add injection oil as required.
Check also for proper pump lever adjustment.
Marks must be aligned when throttle lever is acti-
vated just enough to take all cable play.
1. Small oil line

3. Main oil line
Reinstall all parts except air silencer.
Bleed the small oil line between pump and intake
manifold by running engine at idle while holding
the pump lever in fully open position.
NOTE:
If the air silencer has been reinstalled,
make a J hook out of mechanical wire to lift the
lever.
TYPICAL — ENGINE AT IDLE
S-Series Only
Reinstall air silencer.

CAUTION
Proper oil injection pump adjustment is very
important. Any delay in the opening of the
pump can result in serious engine damage.

on a stand.
